HEATING WITH WOOD IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY

Heating the house without heating the planet is possible, even with wood and its derivatives. This is what emerges from the Progetto Fuoco fair, dedicated to biomass heating.

The world of biomass has changed and the latest edition of Progetto Fuoco , the international biennial dedicated to sustainable heating, has amply demonstrated this.

The average efficiency of appliances fueled by wood and its derivatives has reached 90% in a few years and the fire of wood – the oldest of the renewable energy sources, but always current – and its derivatives has also become a source of primary heating.

The numbers of the wood-energy supply chain

According to data processed by the AIEL Observatory (Italian Association of Agroforestry Energy), wood is the first among renewable energy sources (33% in Italy and 40% in the world) and the second source of heating for Italian families . In Italy, the wood-energy supply chain – the one that, to be clear, goes “from the forest to the fireplace” – boasts a turnover of 4 billion euros , with 14,000 companies employing 72,000 employees, of which 43,000 direct and 29,000 related to the induced . Furthermore, 70% of pellet appliances in Europe are designed and built in Italy .

Biofuels for the energy transition

The continuous technological innovation of the sector has made it possible, with the use of new generation plants that have replaced the old plants, to avoid over the last year the emission into the atmosphere of about 2,200 tons of particulate matter (PM) and about 160 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent per year . The goal is to reduce by at least 70% the emissions of fine dust deriving from the domestic combustion of biomass.

New generation fireplaces, stoves and boilers – of which we present a collection here – now have advanced technologies that increase efficiency and, at the same time, reduce energy consumption and polluting emissions . How to recognize them? From the energy class and the “stars” , up to 5 in the greenest appliances.

Incentives for biomass fireplaces

The installation of new generation biomass appliances is one of the interventions driven by the 110% Superbonus , provided that they have an efficiency greater than or equal to 85%.

In addition, there is also the Thermal Account 2.0 , not a tax deduction, but a direct economic contribution that encourages the replacement of obsolete and polluting heating systems, through an energy efficiency intervention. Also in this case, the appliance must meet particularly restrictive quality standards, both in terms of efficiency and emissions into the atmosphere.

vittoria

Part of the PASIAN Evolution Line is the Vittoria 5-star ventilated pellet stove with Intelligent power management system that allows you to reach the set temperature values and keep them constant, improving comfort and reducing consumption. The automated settings function allows quick settings for pellet loading, combustion air and ventilation.

Pasian Vittoria is the only truly multi-fuel 5 star: it can burn pellets, olive pits, almond shells and all small minced fuels very well. www.pasianpellets.it
